Today’s picture post-processing is largely inspired by talk of black and white conversion at chromasia. It’s not a great picture to begin with, but I kind of like it. Tell me if I’m wrong.

Something Smells Funny On Top Of Olin-Rice
Zachary is back from his wide reaching travels abroad today, and so to celebrate his return to an ever-present online presence, I am posting this picture of him making a funny face, completely destroying any attempt he has made thus far to cultivate a mysterious and dark image of himself. Sorry Zachary, but I’m out of pictures. |

Barely Legal!
Today is my birthday and I invite people looking for porn to celebrate with me by viewing these two lovely parking garage pictures. As for me, I have already celebrated by going out for sushi and beers. It was delicious. I attempted to celebrate last night at 1:30 AM by buying some Miller High Life at Cub Foods, but APPARENTLY it’s ILLEGAL to sell alcohol after 1 AM. Pfff. What is this, puritan 21st century America? Ah, right. It is. I believe I will now further celebrate by taking a nap. |

Hooray for Nazi Pope!
Here is a less than perfect picture of the big ol exhuast pipe which was in the center of the spirally parking garage. In other news, we have elected a Nazi Pope and I have applied for a job at a tea shop. Also my birthday is on Thursday. I am celebrating by doing interesting things on the two surrounding days. Baseball on Wednesday and Concert on Friday. Drinking big bottle of commemorative beer by myself on Thursday. |

Unintentional Art
I have no idea how all those crazy lines got in this picture. I swear I was holding the camera completely steady, balanced on the edge of a roof five stories up. Scary but steady. In any case, I feel like a lot of good photography is unintentional. Maybe not a lot, but, rather, there is a great deal of it in certain categories….or something. You know, candid street stuff can be very good, but to be candid you have to shoot blindly as the camera is hanging around your neck, so people won’t notice. Stuff like that. But it still counts. Thank goodness. I’m going to go make some tea. |

Parking Garage at Night
Michael and I walked around downtown Minneapolis last night (and I left my Chipotle burrito at his apartment, I now realize) and explored the inner and outer passageways of some five story parking garage next to the Foshay building. It had this neat little spiral ramp thing in the center, which is what I tried to take some pictures of. That and a big exhaust pipe thing. Also it’s raining and that’s kind of nice. |

Quick as a Bunny
Genencor got jealous that I put up all those doggie pictures the other day, so now I’m putting up one of him to make him happy. I caught him in mid-movement here. Probably he’s looking around because there was a loud noise, and is about to run like a mofo back to our room and under the bed. The only other time he runs that fast is if he thinks we’re gonna give him food. What a fatty. |

How much is that doggie in the window? |

Contemplation
I am currently writing a paper for Japanese Film, analyzing the music of the original 1954 Gojira. It turns out that I am completely incapable of stringing together coherent sentences on a given topic in any meaningful, much less analytical, way. My two paragraphs thus far look like a 13-year-old’s report on stupidcrap. In conclusion, Napoleon was a great man, but short. |

Park Liquors
I think for a little while I’m going to be doing something a bit different here. I’m probably just going to post one picture a day, because, well, I don’t have a lot of pictures, for one. Also they don’t really group together so well. You can’t really tell with this photo, but perhaps with the next few you can see that I’m fiddling around with some more stuff in photoshop than usual. More precise, color related things. Basically, I’m just stealing from slower.net. But that’s what he gets for posting his post-processing steps online for any old photoblogger to see. Also, you should check out Zachary’s site if you haven’t in a while. He’s been posting some good stuff over there lately. |
