Skellington

skellington

Maybe I should have saved this picture for Halloween or something, but oh well. I like to put things in chronological order. I’m going to see the Arcade Fire tomorrow night, and in one month the Decemberists and the New Pornographers are coming to town one right after the other! Amazing! Unfortunately, by going to see the Arcade Fire, we will be missing M.I.A. and Barbara Ehrenreich. Not together, of course. M.I.A. is playing at the Fine Line and Babara Ehrenreich is speaking at Macalester. But we bought tickets to the Arcade Fire long ago, and would probably rather see them anyway. I just hope they don’t have a sucky follow up album like Hot Hot Heat. Anyway, academia beckons.

High in the Sky

It is hot today, but I think it will never be hot again. And isn’t it the last day of summer? Good timing and goodbye summer, hello fall leaves and fall jackets. Zachary and Zack are waiting outside. It’s been too long since I rendevouzed with the Source.

Wake Up

whee

Studying French and listening to the Arcade Fire. Hey, they have a song or two with some French in it. They’re de Montréal. I am very tired (wake up!) and coming down with the deadly disease which has been destroying Cassie brick by brick this past week or so. Luckily, I am an active member of the masons. TWO pictures next time! Woo!

Yay 100!

tickets

Here begins some state fair shots on what is nominally my 100th post. I believe that I started with post number four or something dumb like that, but I think it’s much more exciting to celebrate nominal rather than actual milestones. Such as the year 2000 rather than 2001. I’m guessing there weren’t too many fun 2001 New Millenium parties. In other news, French is going très bien and everything else is bien too. Life is bien. Or bon. Or something.

Cassee

Yesterday was a busy day. I went to see Of Montreal, and then I played at orientation. It was…interesting. I was surprised by the amount of people who came, and by how loud they managed to be, effectively drowning out my guitar and voice. Oh well. I had a big screaming fan section right up front, and big ups to them for showing up even, and on top of that paying attention to me, which is way more than I can say for all those damn first-years.

The Day After Tomorrow, Today

carolb

I’ve been addicted to Katrina news for the past couple days. It’s just plain crazy. The two main places I get information are at this blog, a man holed up in a 27 story high rise giving a first hand account of things, and crooks and liars, which gives a good sense of how the media is reacting. As for me, I’m playing a show for orientation tomorrow around midnight in the campus center. You should be there.

Shoulders

I believe credit for this photo goes to my father. I really like it, I think. Currently I am freaking out about stuff in general, probably about nothing, but I feel like I have lots and lots of stuff to do. And school starts, and my schedule is unexpectedly up in the air, and stuff, and blarg. Bye.
