Guys and Dolls

colin and cassie dolls

It should be common knowledge at this point that Cassie and I went as the Dresden Dolls for Halloween. Sorry for taking so damn long to put up a proper picture, but I think I just wanted a grand photo to bring this Halloween series to its apex. So, here it is. Enjoy!

Sad Clown

sad clown

Kansas was just swell. Full of accents and good manners. I didn’t take many pictures, for some reason. I guess I got all of that out of my system the last time I was there. Flying was fun, and MinneSNOWda is whiter than I remember it.

Alehouse W.C.

no head colin

I got suddenly and inexplicably ill….did I say that already? I’m still stick, on and off, probably coinciding with the drugs I’m taking. Pseudofed is good, pseudofed is great. Still rushing, rushing, rushing to get the JET apps in, but I think it’ll all be AOK and on Wednesday I’ll fly away with no worries at all. Do have a listen to the new song if you haven’t already. It can be found on the right side of the page under “other music". Hasta luego.

Black & White, Stripes

I appear to have developed a minor sickness in the last couple hours. Hopefully it will disappear as swiftly as it came. New picture, new song, no relation.

Millenial Abstraction

millenium abstraction

There’s some kind of, uh, big stage thing in Millenium Park. It’s about as strange looking as this picture would have you believe. Cassie is sick in a coughing and not breathing well way, which is bad. I suspect she’ll get better eventually…we have lots of vitamin C. That cures everything, right? I have to go to work now, instead of deciphering the mysteries of Hungarian. Though, I suppose the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive. We’ll see about that.

Four pictures! Wow! Who could have guessed? Not I. And yet, here we are. I was in Chicago, and I simply could not have NOT taken pictures of something so shiny. (honestly though, I was expecting it to be SHINIER). Also, the White Sox won, so naturally all the skyscrapers were in a tizzy about it.

Millenium Park

millenium park

Just a brief post. I watched Millions this evening and, you know, whatever. It was very bright (visually) and the boy was pretty good but I think Danny Boyle was mostly just being weird/religious or something and the plot suffered because of it. I’ve got to go look at some fuckin Hungarian now, and I’m sad to say I’m only going to look at it more as the days progress. Who knew it would have such strange grammar? The Hungarians, probably, but not many others I bet. More Millenium Park to come.

Cassie: Light and Dark

Welcome to Chicago! These were taken while we were running around Chicago’s famous Hot Topic district looking for the appropriate stockings for Cassie’s costume. It was a long and trying journey, but eventually we prevailed. More next time!

These were taken at the RenFair at some crazy dancing drum orgy that was going on. I think there was another one later, which seemed very pagan and therefore very un-renaisanncey. In French news, I should probably make a brief appearance at le fête Quebecois this evening, since I have to go to two French events this semester and have not gone to any. But…I think I’d rather take a nap.
