Hangin Out In Puerto Vallarta

cassie happy in puerto vallarta

café internet

I am finished giving up my bodily fluids for money. I nearly died (that is to say nearly vomited everywhere and passed out) when I tried to give plasma for the second time, although they did still pay me, which was nice. Also, my right arm still inexplicably hurts in a weird and suspicious way. Whatever. I don’t need any more money. I don’t spend much sitting around watching the World Cup on Univisión and eating lemon heads. Although the lemon heads do add up.

The Many Faces of Grace’s

grace and the da vinci code at mexican walmart

grace tired at the waterfall

grace smiling at the beach party

There’s a story behind each picture!

#1 – Things were very expensive in Mexico since we were on the coast in Resortville rather than in the central Poorton area. So! We went to Mexican Wal-Mart so as to only spend 50¢ on giant multi-liter bottles of water. And beer. I seem to remember getting very little food. This photo is Grace showing off her tackiness two-fold, reading The Da Vinci Code in a (Mexican) Wal-Mart.

#2 – We went horseback riding! It was fun but really hot. The pamphlet advertised a magnificent waterfall, but it was the dry season so it was quite a bit less than magnificent. There were a lot of big…rocks…though. This photo allows Grace’s natural acting ability to shine, as she demonstrates just how tired all three of us were at the waterfall.

#3 – This was taken at the beach party where (you may already know) I won a manly beer drinking contest. Also we met several nice middle aged people from California and Des Moines. Yep. I think they bought us drinks later. I don’t remember. This photo is Grace being happy.

Les Hotels

aquarobics

riu fountain

The first picture is our hotel, and the loud silly aquarobics that happened every morning in the many tiered poor. The other two pictures are of some other hotel, the Riu or something I think. It was just up the beach in the other direction away from Bucerias. That hotel was a lot more spring breaky, and you would see that if I had taken some pictures of the pool. It was full of water volleyball playing, you know, jerks.

I am keeping close track of the World Cup as it happens. I’ve only watched two games because I only have ABC and they’re all on at ridiculous hours like 8 AM. Today, the US lost to the Czech Republic 3 to 0. I know. I’m disappointed. I mean, I like the Czech Republic and all, and I was rooting for them in the Euro Cup after (I think) they beat England. But still, not a good first game for the US. And then next week we play Italy. Yikes. This doesn’t look good.

Bucerias, Una Vez Más

So I’ve been playing a lot of World of Warcraft recently. There. I said it. I have no job, I have no life, and so I play World of Warcraft. Not the other way around! I don’t know if it’s better that way or not. Anyway, the thing is, I’m in this guild, and everyone in it is leveling so much faster than me. A lot of these people have, like, jobs and stuff and they’re still managing to play more than me. I guess they don’t have school, so, that’s a good explanation I suppose. Hm. The point of this was to make other people seem nerdier than me, but I think I failed.

Speaking of jobs, I have sort of two options that I could go with: furniture moving or UPS package handler. Not to say I’m guaranteed to get these jobs, but they are available for me to apply for. The thing is, I’m only going to be in this country for another 7 weeks, less than 2 months. And I’m going to be going home for a week in about a month. So…I mean…that just doesn’t seem conducive to a regular job. It seems conducive to getting paid $50 for doing something once. Like…getting a cat out of a tree for a little old lady. Can I get paid to do that? Ugh. But I need something productive to occupy my time and money is sort of needed. Someone tell me what I should do.

Just up the beach about a 20 minute walk from our hotel was a small town called Bucerias. This is where we went to get reasonably priced food and drink, and also to see lots of stray dogs. There was some interesting architecture as well.
