The Phrenologists

How cliché. It’s the night before I leave and I can’t get a wink of sleep. Instead, I’ve been toiling away at getting my newly minted album up and running on ye olde innturnett. I’m using my brother’s laptop, which is now my laptop, and I think a terrible thing may have happened. I can’t seem to get photoshop to work. It’s some crazy bootleg MCAD setup and I think it’s smarter than we had anticipated. There’s really no turning back now, as far as computer data transfer is concerned, and I guess I need to figure out what to do if photoshop (and perhaps the rest of these fancy editing applications) simply will never work. I think my two options are 1) download it somehow or 2) just buy the damn thing. And I don’t like the second option.

As I mentioned, The Phrenologists (Chris Holoyda and Colin Thompson) have finished their time in the studio and are ready to present their first full length album. It doesn’t really have a name (yet?) so I’m not going to give you one. But I will give you the music, free gratis because it’s so great and so is downloading music off the internet.

Farmscape

It is time to freak the fuck out as I enter the week in which I leave. The apartment is in shambles, things strewn about, and not enough of it is in Ben’s attic. As soon as Cassie’s mom gets here with her truck on Wednesday we’re gonna kick this shit into high gear and oh yeah I have to actually pack for going to Japan. omg girls on skates, that’s all I’ve got to say about that. Speaking of girls on skates, Chris and I are finishing up the album (which, it occurs to me now, has no name). It’ll be 10 whole songs long and available FREE (AMAZING) for download on this very website. Well, I’m off to Valley Fair!

I Went To Some Gay Parade

tattoo parlour

gay chicken hat ladies

gay segways

These pictures are from two different excursions to Minneapolis by Zachary and I. The first is some tattoo parlo(u)r on Lyndale and the other two are some folks at the gay pride parade. Zachary and I went to the parade (platonically!) with the hope of taking some good photos, but 1) It wasn’t as…flamboyant as we’d hoped, and 2) It’s a parade and you just can’t get good parade pictures without actually walking around in the parade, which was intimidating.

8 days. Only 8 more god damn days.

Real Big Fish

bp caught a fish

This was taken at some gas station on the way to Iowa more than a week ago. I’m back now, and have some scant photographic evidence to prove that I was gone. I’ve got only 11 days before I go, and I think I almost crapped myself when I wrote that down. There’s so much to be done, when really I just want to enter a meditative coma.

Good god that’s a lot of photos. They’re pretty much all from Bucerias, from like, the 3rd time we went or something. Whatever. You don’t care. You’ve heard about Mexico. You’re tired of hearing about Mexico. Well good, because I don’t have any more god damned Mexico pictures. You will never hear about Mexico again. Mexi-what?

I’m going home for a week as a final pilgrimage to the motherland before I disappear for a year to strange and distant lands. Also to attend my first ever wedding, which will be an experience. After that it’s pack pack pack freakout cleanup pack and go to JAPAN.

I think maybe I swear too much. But, whatever, no one seems to be complaining (to my face). These photos are from when we went horseback riding in the sierra something or others in Mexico. I’m really gettin on done with these Mexico photos, which I’m sure dear reader will appreciate.

Right, oh, and the song. I just wrote this, and it’s god damn awesome.
