So, sorry about not explaining those muddy portraits. I suppose I knew full well that an important constituency of my audience is unfamiliar with the event known as the Gatalympics.
In my own words, it’s a big crazy mud event. It’s in Kashima, south of here. Cassie participated, but I wussed out because I have problems committing to a change in bodily state which in this specific instance means being really totally muddy. The reason I don’t really have any pictures of people being really totally muddy, or actually running around in the mud, is cause my damn camera died, like, two seconds after the starting gun or whatever went off. So much for that.
The photo below is from cherry blossom season, brief that it was. It’s a little mountain path/park on the edge of Shiroishi and Kashima called Sakura no Sato, which means something like Cherry Blossom Countryside. It wasn’t actually all that nice. Much nicer was Karatsu Castle which was resplendent with cherry blossoms and fantastic views and a castle and everything, and I didn’t have my damn camera. I need a bag for that thing to make carrying it around more convenient.
The reason why I don’t write much here is because it’s really set up to be a photo blog, this site. The archives are centered around pictures, not specific posts or dates, so I kind of feel like if I write anything it’ll be lost. Zachary keeps hinting at changes on the horizon, so we’ll see what happens.
